Luzardo, acquired from Miami in December 2024, is poised to dominate Atlanta’s top-heavy lineup, leveraging his elite stuff and favorable matchups to secure a Phillies win.
Luzardo, 27, brings a high-octane arsenal with a mid-90s fastball, sharp slider, and deceptive changeup, generating a 28.7% strikeout rate from 2022-23. Despite a 2024 lumbar injury, he’s fully recovered, touching 98 mph in 2025 starts. The Nationals go with Mike Soroka, who is 3-5 with a 5.06 ERA, and the home side counters with Kyle Hendricks, who is 5-6 with a 4.83 ERA. I don’t trust either of these guys right now and because of that, I’ll recommend a second look at the over!
